👀 Just One Flake is Jenna Bush Hager’s Family Favorite Picture Book of 2023.

Just One Flake is my first author illustrated book. Here’s a bit about it:

It’s snowing outside! Liam rushes out into the squall determined to catch one perfect snowflake. He tries any number of tricks to complete his mission, but each time he is thwarted.

He sticks out his tongue and looks up . . . nope. He builds a snowman, climbing up to get a little closer to the snow . . . still nope. He runs around the yard—tongue still out—because faster is better, right? Wrong! Nothing seems to work. Until, in a final leap of faith, he catches that one flake . . . in a way he never expected. And the snowflake itself is pretty unexpected too.

From librarian and picture book creator Travis Jonker comes a hilarious and satisfying story all about outdoor play and the natural world’s stunning surprises.

Blue Floats Away is written by me and illustrated by Grant Snider. Here’s a bit about the book:

Little Blue lives at the North Pole with his parents until, one day, he floats away and strikes out on his own. Along the way, Blue encounters new things (sharks) and beautiful things (sailboats). He starts to wonder which way is home when something unexpected starts to happen. Little Blue is getting smaller and smaller until . . . he transforms!

A story about the water cycle, Blue Floats Away explores the power of transformation and growing up.

The Very Last Castle

⭐️ The Very Last Castle received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews.

🏅 The Very Last Castle was selected as a Best Book of the Month at Amazon.

🎉 The Very Last Castle was named one of the best books of 2018 by Kirkus Reviews.

I wrote the words, Mark Pett made the pictures. The Very Last Castle is out in the world. Here's a bit about the book:

A curious little girl watches the man who guards the last castle in town. Every time she passes by him, she tries to catch his eye. While the other townspeople fear what may be locked up inside the mysterious castle, the girl finally gets up the courage to knock on the door and find out what’s really behind the gate. A story about overcoming fear of the unknown, trying new things, and reaching out to make new friends, The Very Last Castle shows that bravery comes in packages both big and small.

The Creativity Project

I wrote a short story for The Creativity Project edited by Colby Sharp. Here's a bit about the book:

Colby Sharp invited more than forty authors and illustrators to provide story starters for each other; photos, drawings, poems, prose, or anything they could dream up. When they received their prompts, they responded by transforming these seeds into any form of creative work they wanted to share.
